My name is Steven Crosley. I was a Staff Sergeant with the United States Army who was medically retired in 2012 after serving 7 years in 1st Special Forces Group. I suffered a compressed skull fracture, traumatic brain injury (TBI), along with a slew of other injuries which ended my career. I have experienced many different combat situations, as well as visiting the far reaches of the world.
Nothing in my service has compared to the feeling of accepting Jesus into my life. While serving I questioned my faith many times. Will what I have done in my service time afford me the opportunity to enter Heaven? This is a question I asked more times than I can remember. Personally, I could never answer that question with conviction. It wasn’t until I was listening to a fellow veteran speak of all the accomplishments he has had in his life and he said, “When I stand before God none of the things that I have done will matter except for the hardest one of all, accepting Jesus into my heart and living the gospel.” It was in that moment I was flooded with emotion and a gigantic weight was lifted from my soul, I accepted Jesus that night. Since that day, I have been able to share my experiences with people without hesitation or reservation on how I will be viewed or judged. My life has gone from a foggy dark place to living in high definition. I invite you to listen to the power of the word of God to see how it can impact your life. |
